Bulldogs To Compete In Schooner Classic

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia women's golf team will return to action on Saturday when they open play at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma. The University of Oklahoma is hosting the 54-hole tournament at the Belmar Golf Club.
Course: Belmar Country Club
Yardage: Par 70, 6182 Yards
Format: 54 holes

Tee Times: Georgia will be paired with TCU and Wisconsin on Saturday. Due to the threat of rain on Sunday, the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10:00 am ET and teams will attempt to play 36 holes on Saturday.
Georgia Lineup: Maria Eidhagen Harrouch, Morgan Smith, Maria Garcia, Sydney Givens and Karoline Tuttle. In addition, Celine Brovold Sanne will compete individually.

Five Fast Facts
• Georgia opened the season by placing 13th in the College of Charleston's Cougar Classic on Sept. 8-9. Sydney Givens was the Bulldogs' top individual finisher in Charleston, shooting 4-over 217 and tying for 24th.
• Georgia carded a 4-under 280 in the second round of the Cougar Classic with all four counting scores being par-or-better tallies – 3-under 68 from Maria Garcia, 1-under 70 from Maria Eidhagen Harrouch and even-par 71s from Givens and Morgan Smith.
• The Bulldogs are playing in the Schooner Fall Classic for the second time in the 13th edition of the tourney. Georgia finished 14th in the inaugural event in 2013, with Manuela Carbajo Ré leading the way individually by tying for 19th.
• The Schooner Fall Classic was started by late country music star Toby Keith. An avid fan of college golf, Keith co-owned Belmar Golf Club and presented the team champion with a signed guitar each year until his death in 2024.
• The tournament continues in his honor and all proceeds benefitting the Toby Keith Foundation. The foundation's main program is the OK Kids Korral, a no-cost housing facility in Oklahoma City for children battling cancer and their families.

"I think our team has come a long way since Charleston. Everyone has worked hard, and we've really come together. We're all excited to get out there, and I think it's going to be a good week."
On her individual game:
"As far as positives, I think my driving off the tee and my putting and my chipping around the green was good in Charleston. It was good to have the time to focus on my approaches and distances to greens and pins during the last week. That was an issue at times during the Charleston tournament. I'm confident I've gotten that a little more dialed in and that will make a difference this week."
