Tanner Stines serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Capital Planning and Auxiliary Administration at the University of Georgia. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of athletic facilities, building services, maintenance, and grounds departments, while leading the planning and execution of capital projects and construction initiatives. In addition to capital Planning, Stines manages and executes auxiliary revenue opportunities such as concerts, outside rentals, alternative sporting events, and live entertainment, leveraging the unique offerings of the University of Georgia to create value when athletic facilities are not in typical use. He also assists with the coordination and implementation of football travel logistics for both Campus and Athletic Administration, and serves as the sport administrator for Baseball, Equestrian, Cross Country, and Track & Field.

Prior to his current role, Stines was the Deputy Athletic Director, Chief Operating and Financial Officer at McNeese State University Athletics, where he managed business affairs, team travel and scheduling, human resources, marketing, and game operations. He provided senior-level administrative support and oversaw all capital projects. Stines played a key role in the university’s recovery efforts following Hurricanes Laura and Delta in 2020. He also served as the sport administrator for Football and Basketball, and oversaw Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning, while supporting the McNeese Athletic Foundation in operations, memberships, sponsorships, and fulfillment.

Before his time at McNeese, Stines worked in Internal Operations for the University of Georgia Athletic Association, contributing to construction planning and serving on all UGA capital project teams. He previously held the role of Coordinator of Graphics and Displays, where he managed museum exhibits and historical archives across athletic facilities and led efforts in repairs, inspections, and graphics maintenance.

Stines began his career in athletics as an undergraduate equipment manager for the UGA Football Program, later transitioning into a football operations intern role. He spent five seasons with the team from 2006–2010 under Head Coach Mark Richt.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Georgia in 2010 and completed his Master’s in Sports Management in 2014.

Tanner is married to Megan Stines, a fellow UGA graduate and former student athletic trainer for the Bulldogs. Megan is a Physical Therapist at Piedmont Outpatient Rehabilitation in Athens, GA. The couple has one daughter, named Margaret Stines.
