On tonight's match…
"Tonight's one of those games where we didn't play well. And from the beginning, we didn't give the game the energy that it needed, and we found ourselves in a battle when we didn't need to be in one. But all credit to Texas; they could play. They can move the ball, and they put in the fight. But this group has a chemistry about them, a work rate about them, a fortitude about them that showed tonight, and to find a way to recover from the first half, find two goals in the second half, that's the sign of a really good team, a winning-type team. So for us, a big step forward when every game at this time of year means something. Tonight was one of those games where we found a way to win when maybe we weren't our best"

Fast Facts
- With the win, Georgia (9-3-4, 5-1-2 SEC) secured its fifth conference victory for the first time since 2022 and picked up its first-ever win over Texas (3-11-1, 1-7-0 SEC), including its first goals in the series.
- In her first start since November 2023, redshirt sophomore defender Virginia Odom made her presence felt, scoring her first career goal in the 29th minute to give Georgia the early lead. After a corner kick from Mya Townes, Odom's initial strike was blocked, followed by a deflected shot by Millie Filson that directly led to Odom's eight-yard strike.
- Texas equalized in the 41st minute as Ava McDonald took an errant Georgia pass and beat keeper Hannah Folliard for the empty net goal.
- The Bulldogs quickly responded as freshman forward Lily Kate Elphick struck from outside the 18 for her third goal of the season. The unassisted score came just 40 seconds after the Longhorns' goal.
- Georgia's lead proved to be short-lived as McDonald rocketed a goal from over 30 yards out with 17 seconds remaining in the first half, earning a brace.
- In the second half, Elphick struck again, bending a kick into the top right of the net for her second score of the night and posting Georgia's second brace by a freshman this season.
- Shortly after at the 61:35 mark, redshirt junior midfielder Summer Denigan added to the scoring with a shot from the top of the 18, assisted by junior midfielder Kiera Staude. With the score, Denigan improved to 10 goals on the season, the first double-digit scorer in a season since Mollie Belisle in 2021.
