SCORESHEET

FRESNO, Calif. -- The fifth-ranked Georgia equestrian team rode to an 11-8 victory over No. 6 Fresno State on Friday at the Fresno State Student Horse Center to conclude regular season competition with a 9-4 overall record and 4-2 mark in SEC action.

Georgia swept Most Outstanding Performance honors with Meg O'Mara (Equitation Over Fences), Addyson Cord (Equitation on the Flat), Sammie Johnson (Horsemanship), and Graysen Stroud (Reining) being recognized for their rides.

"Today was a great test of endurance as our last meet of the regular season," head coach Meghan Boenig said. "We had to grind, work hard, and find every point in every possibility, which is such great preparation for postseason. We are very happy to come out with the win. I am so proud and impressed with our four MOPs. To earn that recognition with such stellar performances on away horses is a hard thing to do. There are great things for the future of Georgia equestrian."
Georgia jumped to an early 3-2 lead in Equitation Over Fences. Liza Finsness earned the first point for Georgia, defeating Fresno State's Alex Dirickson, 78-71, before Sydney Hutchins out-rode Natalie Wendt, 82-75. Meg O'Mara closed out the event with a 86-70 victory over FSU's Madelyn Keck.

Fresno State edged Georgia, 3-2, in Reining. Graysen Stroud scored an event-high 74.5 to better Hailey Robison's 70. In the anchor position, Charley Thiel rode to 72-70.5 defeat over Taylor Dixon to even the score at five heading into the break.

Georgia rode to a 4-1 victory in Equitation on the Flat. Liza Finsness, Madison Newman, and Sydney Hutchins each earned points for the Bulldogs after riding to a score of 81. After a re-ride, Addyson Cord rode to an MOP-earning, 79-67, victory over FSU's Alex Dirickson.

Georgia and Fresno State rode to a 2-2 tie in Horsemanship. Payton Anderson started the event with a 74-70 victory over Taeya Harle, before Madison Anger rode to a tie with a score of 69 against Maddy Robison. Sammie Johnson rode to her first MOP-earning point with a 74-73 win over Taylor Brown.

The SEC Championship will be held in Auburn, Alabama on March 24-25. The season will officially conclude at the NCEA National Championship to be held April 12-15 in Waco, Texas.
