ATHENS, Ga. --- Manuela Carbajo Ré and Rocio Sanchez Lobato placed eighth and 10th, respectively, in the 2014 Lady Bulldog Individual Tournament at the University of Georgia Golf Course on Saturday.

The event featured 51 golfers from 11 schools and also included a "mini" team tournament in which Georgia placed third at 621.

"You always have to start somewhere," head coach Josh Brewer said. "It has been three months since we competed. We got a few good rounds out there, but everyone has something to work on. That's kind of the reason we host the tournament. You'd love to have a winner, but it also tells us where we need to get better."

Carbajo Ré shot rounds of 75 and 77 to finish at 8-over 152, while Sanchez Lobato signed for a 79 and a 74 to finish at 153. Alex Harrell of Auburn and Chessey Thomas of Tennessee posted identical scores of 75-72=147 and were named co-medalists after tying on the first playoff hole as well.

All nine members of the Georgia roster competed on Saturday. Also for the Bulldogs, Amira Alexander tied for 21st at 157, Harang Lee tied for 27th at 159, Sammi Lee was 33rd at 161, Mary Ellen Shuman tied for 38th at 164, Isabel Silva Zamora tied for 44th at 170, Amelia Hill was 47th at 172 and Sylvie Brick was 49th at 179.

Alexander, Carbajo Ré, Hill, Harang Lee and Sanchez Lobato represented Georgia as a team. After shooting a 307 in the morning, the Bulldogs carded a 314 in the afternoon. Tennessee won the team title at 608, followed by Chattanooga at 615, Georgia at 621 and Samford at 632.
