ATHENS, Ga. – McKenzie Lantz has been named the March NCEA Reining Rider of the Month, it was announced today. It is the second time this season that she has been selected as the national rider of the month in reining.
Lantz finished the month with a perfect 4-0 mark with wins over UT-Martin, Texas A&M and South Carolina. In her first meet of the month against UT-Martin, Lantz rode to MOP honors with her 79.5-67.5 win over her opponent.
Her final three wins in March came against Southeastern Conference competitions, include two in the SEC Championship. During the month, she averaged a score of 70.4 and outscored her opponents by an average of 1.8 points over the four meets. In all, Lantz has lost just one head-to-head competition this season.
Lantz and the rest of the Bulldog equestrian team gets back in action April 18-20 when they travel to Waco, Texas for the NCEA National Championship. Georgia has earned the No. 3 seed in both the Western and Hunt Seat classes.
