ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia equestrian is ranked No. 1 in the latest NCEA Coaches Poll released today. The Bulldogs wrapped up the regular season with a 16-6 win over Southeastern Conference rival Texas A&M to improve to 8-4 on the season and 3-3 in league action.
In the final regular-season meet of the season, Georgia riders took home three MOP honors, as Kylee Arbuckle was a dual recipient of the honor, earning it in both Equitation on the Flat and Equitation Over Fences. Anna Sasser was named the MOP in Horsemanship.
Each of the SEC-member schools are ranked in the top-10 according to the coaches, as the Bulldogs narrowly edged fellow SEC member Auburn, who came in at second after overtaking Georgia in the previous poll. South Carolina came in ranked sixth, while Texas A&M is the No. 8 team in the nation.
Georgia will return to action March 29-30 as the No. 3 seed in the inaugural SEC Championship hosted by Auburn in Auburn, Ala.
