John Meshad began working for the Athletic Association in 2002 as an intern in the Athletic Directors office. In 2004 he was named Assistant Equipment Manager for the football team. He was a part of the 2005 SEC Championship team. Following the 2006 season he was promoted to the position of Head Equipment Manager for the Bulldogs. John and his staff have played an integral role in the various uniform changes in the past and have been instrumental in equipping the team with the most advanced football equipment on the market. John has served on several advisory boards with Nike and is currently an active member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association. John was recently named the Director of Athletic Equipment for The University of Georgia in 2011.
John attended The University of Georgia in 1995-96 where he first started working in the equipment room as a student manager. He finished his degree at The University of Montana where he majored in communications and received a minor in history. While in Montana he also developed an interest in fly-fishing. He is now an avid fly fisherman who also enjoys playing golf in his free time. A native of Mobile, Ala., John attended McGill-Toolen High School where he lettered in football for three years. He is married to the former Nichole Lee Kendrick from Macon, GA. and they have a son, Michael Clayton.
