Up next, Georgia (10-19) finishes a five-game road swing at Kennesaw State (17-11) Tuesday at 6 p.m. KSU spoiled Georgia’s 2013 home opener by edging the Bulldogs 2-1. Georgia went 2-2 last week including snapping a nine-game losing streak and securing their first SEC win of the year. Georgia posted a 5-3 road win over Clemson and then went 1-2 against #8 Kentucky in Lexington. On Friday, Georgia welcomes SEC newcomer Missouri (9-15, 2-7 SEC) to town. The Bulldogs have never faced the Tigers, and Saturday’s game will be televised by ESPNU at 8 p.m. 

*Probable Pitching Matchup: Georgia freshman RHP David Gonzalez (0-2, 10.32) vs. KSU sophomore RHP Nathan Harsh (1-0, 0.00). Neither pitcher saw action in their team's latest weekend series.

*Overall, Georgia is batting .276 with a 4.76 ERA and fielding .976. In SEC action, Georgia has a .232 batting average with a 4.44 ERA and a .972 fielding percentage. SEC opponents have registered a 1.84 ERA against the Bulldogs who have scored just 21 runs in nine league games. KSU is batting .271 with a 2.84 ERA and a .964 fielding percentage.

*Sophomore outfielder Hunter Cole (.293-3-19) is starting to heat up after batting .391 (9-for-23) this past week. His older brother, Dylan (0-0, 2.00 ERA), earned his first save as a Bulldog in the 7-6 win over #8 Kentucky. Dylan had 10 saves in a two-year career at Furman before transferring to UGA in 2012.

*Sophomore RHP Ross Ripple has provided a steady bullpen presence this season, going 1-0 with a 1.27 ERA with 21 strikeouts and just six walks. Last week in two outings, he allowed just one run in 6.1 innings and picked up a win at Clemson. With 14 appearances on the year, Ripple ranks second to sophomore LHP Jarrett Brown (0-0, 2.20 ERA) who leads the team with 15. Senior LHP Blake Dieterich (1-0, 1.37 ERA) returned to action in the UK series after missing the past two weeks with shoulder stiffness. 

*Senior SS Kyle Farmer (.328-1-29) ranks fourth in school history with 62 career doubles. He ranks among the SEC leaders this season with 11. He is on pace to finish his career among the top 10 in school history in games, at bats, hits, total bases and RBI plus post the highest fielding percentage for a shortstop. In 188 games including 187 starts, Farmer is fielding .966.

*Georgia has four former Bulldogs on Major League Opening Day rosters. They are starting infielders Gordon Beckham and Jeff Keppinger (Chicago White Sox), relief pitcher/closer Mitchell Boggs (St. Louis Cardinals) and relief pitcher Joshua Fields (Houston Astros). Three additional former pitchers were in MLB Spring Training camps: Justin Grimm (Texas, now in Triple-A Round Rock and on Rangers 40-man roster), Brooks Brown (Pittsburgh, now in Triple-A Indianapolis), Alex Wood (Atlanta, now in Double-A Mississippi).
