Zambiasi chosen for Canadian Football Hall of Fame

ATHENS, Ga. -- Ben Zambiasi, the University of Georgia's top all-time tackler, will be inducted this weekend into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
Zambiasi, a native of Valdosta, spent 11 years playing linebacker in the Canadian Football League as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Argonauts. In 10 seasons with the Tiger- Cats, Zambiasi was chosen as the league's Most Outstanding Rookie (1978), and he was a six-time CFL All-Star and an eight-time Eastern All-Star. In 1979, he won the Schenley Trophy as the league's most outstanding defensive player. He won the McCaffrey Trophy as the East Division's top defender in both 1979 and 1981. Zambiasi was a member of four teams that played for the Grey Cup (the CFL's version of the Super Bowl), winning in 1986.
Zambiasi recorded 467 tackles in his career as a Bulldog from 1974-77.
Zambiasi was named All-America in 1976 and was a three-time All-SEC selection.
