The 90-mile walking tour begins at Atlanta's Shepherd Center on Friday,
August 31st, at 10:00am, with a launch party hosted by members of the
1980 National Championship Team. After engaging fans in Atlanta, Stone
Mountain, Loganville, Snellville, Monroe, and the streets of Athens, the
relay will conclude at Sanford Stadium, delivering the UGA-Buffalo game
ball for kickoff.
The inaugural Game Ball Relay is a 24-hour, human-powered event that energizes the
Bulldog Nation and kicks off the 2012 football season! The UGA Athletic Association
is partnering with Relay of Heroes, LLC to celebrate the spirit of Georgia Football by
empowering former UGA players and fans to carry the game ball from Atlanta to Athens.
