ATHENS, Ga. – Head coach Lizzy Stemke has announced that Amanda Dachs has signed with the Georgia volleyball program. Dachs, an outside hitter, will join the volleyball team for the 2013 season.
The Johns Creek, Ga., native is a four-year letter winner and two-time MVP for Northview High School where she played for coach Dan Kearney.
“We are excited to add Amanda to the Georgia Bulldog Volleyball family,” Stemke said. “Amanda is one of the top volleyball players in our state and our region and we are thrilled she will continue her studies and volleyball career here in her home state.”
As a senior, Dachs was a Senior All Star selection and was named an Under Armour All-American Honorable Mention. As one of the top players in the 2013 class, she was named to the PrepVolleyball Frosh 59 and was also named to the PrepVolleyball Senior Aces 150.
A first team All-State selection, Dachs was named the Area 7 Region Player of the Year and was a Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year Candidate. She finished her high school season ranked first in the State AAAAA classification in kills with 523, in kills per game, averaging 5.0 and holds 17 top-10 school records.
In addition to her career at Northview, Dachs is a member of the A5 club team where she was named the MVP of the 2011 Junior National Championships.
Dachs is the former teammate of Georgia sophomore Gaby Smiley.
