ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Georgia volleyball team helped raise over $1,500 for the Athens Regional Breast Health Center in its annual Dig Pink match, which was held last Sunday.

With the help of t-shirt sales, donations and a special auction of pink jerseys worn by the players, the Bulldogs were able to raise money and create awareness for the prevention of breast cancer.

Georgia kicked off the event by sporting pink jerseys during warm-ups, which were auctioned off during the events. Fans were encouraged to make a donation for a pink t-shirt and were handed hot pink shakers as they entered the gym.

If you missed your opportunity for a Dig Pink t-shirt, additional shirts will be available with donation at the remaining home volleyball matches while supplies last.

Georgia returns to the floor on Friday, Nov. 2, when it travels to Gainesville, Fla., to take on the Florida Gators at 7 p.m.
