ATHENS, Ga. -The University of Georgia volleyball team takes to the road for a 2:30 p.m., Sunday match against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia is 11-8 on the season, including a 5-4 mark in Southeastern Conference Play. The Crimson Tide enters the weekend with a 14-7 record and is 3-6 in the SEC.

Georgia Earns Thrilling 3-2 Win Over Alabama
Brittany Northcutt led the University of Georgia volleyball team to a 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 25-16, 21-25, 15-12) win over the Alabama Crimson Tide with her third double-double performance of the season on Friday night. With the win, Georgia improves to 8-4 on the season, including a 2-1 mark in Southeastern Conference action. Alabama suffered its third loss of the season to fall to 12-3 and 1-2 in SEC play.

Quick Notes
Against Alabama: The Bulldogs hold a 22-20 lead over Alabama in the all-time series. The last win came on Sept. 21 when Georgia defeated the Crimson Tide 3-2 in Athens. Georgia did not win last meeting in Tuscaloosa, but did pick up a 3-1 win during the 2010 season.
A Look Back: Georgia took a pair of SEC wins last weekend when it defeated the Auburn Tigers 3-0 and the Ole Miss Rebels 3-2. The Bulldogs have now won three of their last four contests, dating back to a 3-2 win in Baton Rouge, La., on Oct. 3. The Bulldogs suffered a setback on Tuesday with a 3-1 loss to in-state rival Georgia Tech, in a match that was played in front of 3,222 fans in Stegeman Coliseum.
Five In Double Figures: For the first time this season, Georgia had five players in double-digit kills in a match. Against Ole Miss, Briana Bahr led the way with 14 kills. Jasmine Eatmon finished with 11 kills on 11-for-24 hitting. Elena Perri, Tirah Le'au and Brittany Northcutt each added 10 kills in the win. Briana Bahr leading the way with 14 kills. In Three: Georgia's 3-0 win over Auburn was the first time since Sept. 30, 2011 that the Bulldogs have defeated an SEC foe in three sets. Georgia's last 3-0 win over an SEC opponent was against South Carolina.
