Quick Notes:
 • In Season Openers: Georgia is 25-9 in season openers and 1-0 under the direction of Lizzy Stemke. The 2012 season marks just the third in Georgia's 34 year history that it has opened the season with a team from the state of Georgia. The Bulldogs are 0-2 in opening games against teams from Georgia.
 • Against the Field: The Bulldogs own a 20-6 record against the tournament field. Georgia is a perfect 10-0 against Georgia Southern and is 10-6 against Georgia State. This season marks the first time that the Bulldogs have taken on Troy and Slovenia.
Against Georgia Southern: Though Georgia leads the all-time series between Georgia Southern 10-0, it has been since 2007 that the teams have faced one another on the volleyball court. Georgia took the last meeting in straight sets.
Against Georgia State: Georgia leads the all-time series with Georgia State 10-6 in a series that dates back to 1978, the first year that the Bulldogs played collegiate volleyball. The Bulldogs dropped the first of four matches to Georgia State in 1978, but went on to win the next eight matches. The teams have not faced one another since 2010 when Georgia took a 3-2 win.
Straight Sets: In the 26 matches that Georgia has played with Georgia Southern and Georgia State, 16 of them have been decided in straight sets. The Bulldogs have won six matches against Georgia Southern in straight sets and 9 against Georgia State. Georgia has lost just two matches in straight sets, both of which were to Georgia State and the last one coming in 2001.
National Teams: Georgia's match against Slovenia marks just the second time in program history that the Bulldogs have taken on a national team. In 1981, Georgia welcomed the Brazilian National Team. In that meeting, Georgia fell 3-0.
