ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia volleyball team is set to open its spring schedule this Saturday, March 29, at 5 p.m., when it welcomes Georgia Southern to the Ramsey Center.

“With the graduation of many on our roster, the 2014 group will have a new look and feel to the systems and team of last year,” Lizzy Stemke said. “We are excited to take the court and compete this spring as we continue to formulate our vision for 2014. The spring gives us an opportunity to provide great experience to both our new and returning players. We know after a few weeks of training they are itching to simulate a game day here at home.”

Georgia and Georgia Southern faced off once during the 2013 regular season. The Bulldogs came away with a 3-0 win in the matchup in Statesboro, Ga., to improve to 12-0 in the all-time series.

The Bulldogs will also play Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 against Georgia State. The Bulldogs have not seen Georgia State since the 2012 season when they took a 3-0 win. Georgia leads the all-time series 11-6.

Spring competition will wrap up April 12, when the Bulldogs take part in a spring tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
