ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Georgia volleyball program has announced that registration has begun for the 2013 Lizzy Stemke Volleyball Camps. Registration for the camps is on a first come, first serve basis, so campers are encouraged to register early. There will be six sessions of the 2013 camp, with each focusing on technical and tactical training in a challenging and fun atmosphere. Campers will get to work with a highly trained and skilled staff and will practice in the Ramsey Student Center, home of the Georgia volleyball team.
“We are excited to release the dates for another year of Lizzy Stemke Volleyball camps,” Stemke said. “We have seen the interest grow each year and we are excited for another year of development in the area as well as the continued expansion of our program.”
The Junior Bulldog Camp will be held June 10-11 for campers between the ages of 9-12. On June 15, there will be a one-day serving/passing camp, followed by a one-day attacker camp on June 16. Each of these camps is open to campers between the ages of 13-18.
For the second year, Georgia will offer a setter academy, which will include two full days of setting technique and drills, which is scheduled July 7-8. A three-day, all skills camp will be held July 9-11. Each of these camps is open to players between the ages of 13-18.
A team developmental camp is the final camp of the summer and will be held July 12-14. The camp, which is designed for both JV and Varsity teams, will have three packages offered to accommodate each team and its individual needs. The “Red” camp package is our most-inclusive residential camp package. This package covers all lodging arrangements and meals from the opening to closing of team camp. The “Black” camp package is designed for teams that would prefer to make their own lodging and meal arrangements. The “Bulldog” camp package, which will be held July 14 only, is designed for teams that may not be able to attend the entirety of our three-day camp, but would still like to participate. This option will provide a brief instructional overview, and two sessions of tournament play with team camp teams. Lunch is not provided and all players should bring their own sack lunch.
