Dave Williams has been associated with the Georgia Athletic Association since the 1960's when he served as batboy for the Bulldog baseball team. He currently serves as the Assistant Director of Event Management.
Williams, a native of Athens and a graduate of UGA, was the assistant ticket manager from 1989-2000. Prior to that he served as director of public relations for the UGA College of Pharmacy, Assistant Director of UGA Alumni Relations and administrative assistant for the Bulldog Club.
While working in the Bulldog Club, Williams was managing editor of the football game programs and severed as production assistant for the Vince Dooley TV Show. Williams has been named to Outstanding Young Men of America, Biftad Honor Society and Gridiron Secret Society. Williams is also co-director of the Athens Athletic Hall of Fame, serves on the Board of Directors of the Champions Foundation and Hope Haven of Northeast Georgia, and serves on the Athens Convention and Visitor's Bureau task force.
While attending Clarke Central High School, Williams played quarterback on the 1977 state champions. He also lettered in baseball and later coached football and baseball at his alma mater. Williams also played quarterback on the 1978 Georgia JV and scout teams.
As event manager, Williams is in charge of the game day operations for baseball, volleyball and golf. He also works with the football, basketball and gymnastics programs. Williams served as tournament director of the 2001, 2004 and 2006 NCAA baseball regionals and the 2001 and 2006 super regionals.
Williams is also a free-lance writer and avid golfer.
