ATHENS, Ga.—Georgia junior Lauren Herring has been selected to be part of the United States’ eighth annual Master’U team. The squad, which is made up of the best college players from around the country, will represent the U.S. at the Master’U BNP Paribas, an international collegiate team competition held Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Aix-en-Provence, France.
“Everyone here at Georgia is very excited that Lauren has been selected to represent the United States internationally at the Master’U competition,” said head coach Jeff Wallace. “She’s going to have a great trip and get some good international experience that will benefit her moving forward.”
This fall, Herring, ranked No. 3 in the country, went 10-1 this in singles, and 14-3 in doubles, including reaching the semifinals of ITA National Indoors.
The U.S. will compete against teams from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Russia in a bracket-style team competition, with each match consisting of two men’s and two women’s singles matches, one women’s and one men’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match.
Last year, the U.S. won its third Master’U title, the others coming in 2011 and 2009. The entire team is listed below.
