PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF.---Four Bulldogs begin play Tuesday in the qualifying draw for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

Senior Nadja Gilchrist and sophomore Maho Kowase are in the 64-player singles draw while the tandem of sophomore Kate Fuller and freshman Lauren Herring is in the 32-field doubles draw. Participants must win three matches to advance to the main draw slated for Oct. 6-9.

Gilchrist is 3-0 this fall and ranked No. 43. She will face 38th-ranked Shannon Matthews (Notre Dame). Kowase is 6-0 and ranked No. 56. Her opponent will be announced late Monday from the prequalifying draw. Meanwhile, the Fuller/Herring duo is 4-3 and ranked No. 20. The Georgia duo is seeded fourth in the event. They will battle the 56th-ranked Illinois team of Rachael White and Marisa Lambropoulos.

Tuesday’s action at the Riviera Tennis Club will begin with doubles at noon E.T. followed by singles at 1:45 p.m. ET.
