Lauren Herring is No. 6 in the latest singles rankings.

ATHENS, Ga.—The Georgia women’s tennis team remained at No. 3 in the latest rankings released Tuesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Georgia finished runner-up to No. 2 Florida in last weekend’s SEC Tournament. Georgia beat No. 39 Ole Miss and No. 8 Alabama in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds, respectively.
Georgia has three singles players and five doubles pairs ranked in the latest rankings.
In singles, sophomore Lauren Herring remained at the No. 6 spot. Herring is 35-5 this season and has won eight consecutive matches. Junior Maho Kowase, who is 22-3 this year, is ranked No. 18. She is tied with Herring with a team-high 35 wins. Freshman Silvia Garcia is No. 99 in the latest rankings. The Madrid, Spain-native is 19-3 in dual matches, a best among freshmen in the SEC.
In doubles, the duo of Garcia and junior Kate Fuller are remain at the top spot. Fuller is also ranked No. 47 with Herring, but they’ve yet to team up this spring. The tandem of Kowase and junior Lilly Kimbell are ranked No. 57, while Herring and Kowase, who are 11-2 this year, are ranked No. 49. Herring and freshman Mia King snuck into the latest rankings at No. 125.
Georgia is one of seven SEC schools ranked inside the Top-30.
Georgia will now await its seeding for the 2013 NCAA Tournament. The selection show will be held on April 30 at 5:30 p.m. on NCAA.com. Georgia will likely host the first and second rounds which will take place May 10-12, but campus sites have not yet been announced.
