Athens, Ga.--- Seventh-ranked Georgia won its tenth straight match Sunday, posting a 7-0 sweep over No. 12 Arkansas at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts.

Georgia (12-1, 6-0 SEC) got off to an early lead by taking the doubles point.  The No. 1 pair of Chelsey Gullickson and Kate Fuller, ranked No. 9 nationally, claimed their ninth straight win with an 8-2 victory over Anouk Tigu and Claudine Paulson.  To clinch the doubles point, the tandem of Nadja Gilchrist and Lilly Kimbell, ranked No. 38 nationally, defeated Kate Lukomskaya and Valentina Starkova 8-4.  Ending the point, the No. 3 team of Cameron Ellis and Alexandra Anghelescu fell short 7-6 (3) to Emily Carbone and Kelsey Sundaram.

“I really was excited about our doubles today, coming out at the number one and two courts,” said Georgia coach Jeff Wallace.  “I thought Arkansas played well in those spots, and our players just really played some outstanding doubles on both those courts to get the doubles point.  Singles was good matches all the way around.  To win 7-0 against the number twelve team in the country is a fantastic match for us.”

In singles, Maho Kowase, ranked No. 84 nationally, quickly took the first point at No. 2 with a 6-3,6-0 win over Kate Lukomskaya.  Kowase now holds a team best 26-7 on the year.  Freshman Lilly Kimbell quickly followed with a 6-4,7-6 (1) win over Claudine Paulson.  The clinch came from freshman Alexandra Anghelescu, when her opponent Stephanie Roy retired after the second set.  The clinch was Anghelescu’s third this season following her last clinch at LSU Friday.

The Bulldogs continued the sweep as Gullickson defeated Anouk Tigu 7-5,6-2 and senior Cameron Ellis defeated Jade Frampton 6-3,6-0.  To close out the match, Fuller defeated Emily Carbone 3-6,7-5 (6).

Georgia is back in action at home Friday against Ole Miss at 4 p.m. ET at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
