LEXINGTON, Ky.—The No. 3 Georgia women’s tennis team beat No. 28 Kentucky 4-0 Friday afternoon at the Boone Tennis Complex to win its ninth straight match and remain unbeaten in conference play. Georgia improves to 13-2 overall and 6-0 in the SEC.

“I was excited for us to get another SEC road win,” said head coach Jeff Wallace. “Kentucky played great against us. It was a really hard fought match by both teams. I was fired up to get the win and we’re looking forward to getting to Nashville for Sunday’s match against Vanderbilt.”

Georgia grabbed an early 1-0 lead after winning a highly contested doubles point. The No. 36 duo of Kate Fuller and Silvia Garcia topped Kelsey Dieters and Aldila Sutjiadi, 8-5. Later, the No. 3 pair of Lauren Herring and Maho Kowase clinched the point with a 8-6 defeat of No. 56 Caitlin McGraw and CeCe Witten.

In singles, No. 45 Kimbell snapped a two-match losing streak with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kirsten Lewis. Shortly after, No. 15 Garcia won beat Morin-Kougoucheff, 6-2, 6-3 to give Georgia a 3-0 lead. Garcia improves to 26-5 this season. Tenth-ranked Lauren Herring clinched the Georgia win, topping Sutjiadi, 6-1, 7-5. For Herring, it’s her seventh straight win and gives her 25 wins this season.

Kowase and Fuller both led when each of their matches were suspended. King had forced a third-set and was trailing 0-1, but serving.

The Bulldogs improve to 32-10 all-time against the Wildcats.

Georgia remains on the road to play No. 11 Vanderbilt (12-4, 5-1) on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.
