The fifth-ranked Georgia women's tennis team (21-4) made quick work of North Florida (13-7) to open its NCAA Tournament competition, defeating the Ospreys 4-0 on Friday evening at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.


Dogs Sink Vandy, Advance to SEC Final

The fourth-ranked Georgia women's tennis team (20-3, 13-2) secured a place in the SEC Tournament Final with a decisive 4-0 victory over No. 5 Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon at the LSU Tennis Complex.

SENIOR SEASON (2015-16)                  

The lone senior on a Georgia team that went 22-5 and advanced to the program’s sixth-consecutive appearance at the NCAA Championships...Finished her career with 99 singles wins and 99 doubles wins after going 17-13 in singles and 18-9 in doubles... Chosen for the ITA National Team Indoor Championship All-Tournament Team for doubles alongside Caroline Brinson after going 3-0 at the indoor championship tournament...Georgia went undefeated in matches in which Garcia won her match in dual play...Finished 8-8 in singles and 11-6 in doubles in dual play...Went 4-5 against ranked opponents in 2015-16...Clinched Georgia’s match against Baylor to claim a spot at the NCAA Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma...Finished the season with two match clinchers...Ranked 115th by the ITA in singles in the final poll of the season...Had five doubles point clinchers on the year (four with Brinson, one with Kennedy Shaffer)...Went 9-5 in singles and 7-3 in doubles play in the fall...Recipient of the Women's Tennis Scholarship.

JUNIOR SEASON (2014-15)                  

Helped the Bulldogs advance to the NCAA Final Four, the ITA National Team Indoor Finals and the SEC Tournament Championship Final to end the season 24-7 and nationally ranked No. 5...Final national singles ranking of No. 81 and finished No. 38 in doubles along side Kennedy Shaffer...Compiled a 27-11 record in doubles and 21-15 in singles...Led the team in overall doubles wins for the season...Named Second Team All-SEC...Played to an 8-2 singles record in SEC play from the No. 2, 3, and 4 courts and a 7-3 SEC doubles record from the No. 2 court...Defeated five nationally ranked singles opponents and went 4-2 against nationally-ranked doubles opponents...Clinched two matches and nine doubles points for the Bulldogs...Entered the season as the ITA’s No. 9 ranked singles player and No. 10 ranked doubles player alongside Lauren Herring ... Played to a fall record of 8-3 in singles and 10-4 in doubles ... Went undefeated in singles play at the Wilmington Invitational ... Defeated the No. 26 ranked singles player in the nation during first round play at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships ... Teamed up with Ellen Perez to win the doubles title at the Bulldog Tennis Classic ... Advanced to the ITA Southeast Regional doubles quarterfinals with Herring ... Partnered with Mariana Gould to claim a share of the doubles title at the College of Charleston Fall Classic ... Recipient of the Leighton Ballew Women’s Tennis Scholarship.

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013-14)         

Helped team to a 24-5 record, an SEC Tournament Title, the NCAA tournament’s No. 1 overall seed and NCAA Quarterfinal appearance, ending with a final ranking of No. 4... Went 37-8 in singles and 27-6 in doubles ... Finished the season ranked No. 13 in singles and No. 24 in doubles ... Led the team with seven match-clinching wins this spring ... Went 16-5 versus ranked opponents in singles competition ... After going 6-0 at the SEC Tournament, was named to the All-Tournament Team and the SEC Tournament MVP ... Grabbed singles All-America honors after earning a national seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament... Named to the All-SEC First Team ... In the fall, won ITA Southeast Regional singles championship to earn an automatic bid to the ITA National Indoor Championships where she advanced to the quarterfinals...Went 13-2 in singles and 7-3 in doubles with Kate Fuller ... Garnered No. 60 singles ranking and No. 2 doubles ranking in ITA fall rankings.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2012-13)            

Helped team to a 24-4 record and advance to the NCAA quarterfinals ending with a final ranking of No. 5 ... An ITA All-American in doubles with Kate Fuller after going 26-4 and advancing to the NCAA Doubles Quarterfinals ... was ranked as high as No. 1 ... Named to the All-SEC Second Team, as well as the conference’s All-Freshman team ... Finished No. 82 in singles, going 24-4 ... Sported the team’s highest winning percentage in both singles and doubles ... Most dual match wins in singles among SEC freshman ... Named SEC Freshman of the Week of 2/11 ... Named to the ITA National Team Indoors All-Tournament Team after going 6-0 in doubles and singles ... was the only player at the tournament to finish all of her matches without losing ... Named to 2013 ITA Collegiate All-Star Team with doubles partner Kate Fuller.

Trained at the Madrid Tennis Federation under coach Ana Alcazar ... Won the Under-16 European Championship and the Under-14 and Under-16 Spanish Championships ...
