The 2011 season was the 15th year of Georgia Softball. Over those 15 seasons, the Bulldog softball teams have amassed a 667-318 record, two Southeastern Conference championships, 10 NCAA Regional appearances, five NCAA Super Regional appearances and two Women's College World Series appearances.

Additionally over those 15 seasons, Georgia players and coaches have earned several honors and awards:

The 2011 season also marked the eighth season in which the Bulldog softball team has played in its multi-million dollar facility, the Jack Turner Softball Stadium. The facility holds close to 1,400 fans and has been chosen to host five NCAA Regionals and three NCAA Super Regionals since its inception in 2004.

In home games since 2004, the Bulldogs are 242-46 overall, 83-30 against SEC opponents, 16-4 in NCAA Regional play and 5-2 in NCAA Super Regional action.
