ATHENS, Ga. - Georgia softball head coach Lu Harris-Champer has announced that Landyn Duley of Alpharetta, Ga., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Bulldogs beginning in 2014-15.
"Landyn is from one of the top high school athletic programs in the state and has excelled in softball, basketball and track," Harris-Champer said. "We believe as she concentrates on one sport at UGA, she can become a tremendous college softball player and are excited about watching her develop."
Duley signs with Georgia after a four-year career at Wesleyan Honors Day, where she was a three-sport athlete that excelled in softball, basketball and track, and was named the 2013 Wesleyan Honors Day Most Valuable Female Athlete.
Duley helped Wesleyan to back-to-back runner up finishes in the state championship in 2011 and 2012 and led her team to a region championship in 2013. Duley was a member of the all-region team in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and was named to the all-county team in 2011 and 2013. In 2011, she was named to the all-state team and was awarded the Silver Slugger Award. Duley was also a member of the Gwinett Daily Post Super Six. As a member of the Wesleyan Honors Day basketball team, Duley helped her team to three state titles and earned the 2013 Comeback Player Award. She was also a member of the 2011 and 2012 region championship track team that was the state runner-up in 2012. Duley was named to the all-county in 2012 and won the state title in the triple jump in 2012. She holds the school record and was the state runner up in the 100M in 2012, earned the Alpha Wolf Award in 2011 and earned the Competitor's Award in 2012. Duley also played travel ball for the Georgia Elite 16U Gold and Head Coach Keith Pauly, which was ranked eighth nationally in 2012. Duley is the daughter of Dave and Tammy Duley.
Duley is the second of six signees to be announced as part of the Georgia signing class that will join the program in 2014-15. Georgia will reveal a new member of the signing class each day until all six have been announced.
