No. 8 UGA Welcomes Longwood Before Traveling To SEC Tournament

2011 SEC Tournament Bracket in PDF Format ATHENS, Ga. - The eighth-ranked University of Georgia softball team will welcome Longwood to Jack Turner Stadium for a double header on Wednesday before traveling to Oxford, Miss., for the 2011 Southeastern Conference Tournament starting on Thursday. Georgia (44-10) and Longwood (36-12) will play a double header on Wednesday starting at 11 a.m. ET. The twin bill with the Lancers will conclude regular season play for the Bulldogs. This past weekend, Georgia wrapped up regular season SEC play with a series victory over Mississippi State. UGA finished the league portion of its schedule at 17-9 earning the fifth seed in the conference tournament. The Bulldogs opening game of the tournament will come against 21st-ranked and fourth-seeded LSU (38-15) at 5 p.m. ET on Thursday. In the regular season series between the schools, UGA swept LSU in Athens with scores of 6-3, 8-0 (5) and 12-0 (5). All of the 2011 SEC Tournament games will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. Georgia's contest against LSU will be carried on ESPNU with Beth Mowins and Michele Smith calling the action.
