ATHENS, Ga. - The second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will embark on a 10-game home stand with five contests in the friendly confines of Jack Turner Softball Stadium this week.
Georgia (27-4) opens the home stand on Wednesday against 24th-ranked Georgia Tech (28-5) at 6:30 p.m. ET. The first 500 fans will received a full set of 2011 Georgia Softball Player Cards, and the game will also serve as UGA Student Appreciation Day with the first 200 UGA students receiving free pizza and a chance to register to win a flat screen television, a flip cam and gift cards.
After playing in-state rival Georgia Tech, the Bulldogs home stand continues on Thursday with a double header against UNC Wilmington (8-23) starting at 4 p.m. Originally scheduled as a single game, the Bulldogs and Seahawks agree to play two contests to make up for previous rainouts.
Georgia then takes Friday off from competition before welcoming Tennessee Martin (19-11) to Athens for a two-game series. The Bulldogs and Skyhawks first meet on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and then again on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
The game with Georgia Tech on Wednesday and the first game of the double header with UNC Wilmington will be video streamed by GTV on www.georgiadogs.com while the second game against the Seahawks and both games versus the Skyhawks will feature live audio. Fans can also find live stats for all five contests on the website.
Admission is free to all regular season contests at Jack Turner Stadium.
