ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 25 University of Georgia softball team opens its Southeastern Conference season this weekend when it travels to Auburn, Ala., to take on the Auburn Tigers in a three-game series that begins Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. ET. The teams will also play Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, with both games slated to begin at 1 p.m. ET. Georgia is coming off a 14-1 win over Georgia Tech that improved its record to 18-7. Auburn handed Middle Tennessee State a 6-2 loss on Wednesday, improving it to 20-7 on the year, including a 1-2 mark in the SEC.

Series Records
• This meeting marks the 44th time that Georgia and Auburn have faced off on the softball diamond. The Bulldogs hold a 30-14 lead over the Tigers in the all-time series. Last season, Auburn took the first game of the series 2-0 before Georgia bounced back for a 6-3 in game two and a 4-2 win in game three.

Olney’s Streak: Christine Olney, Georgia’s only four-year senior, extended her hitting streak to eight games with her 3-for-4 performance against Georgia Tech. In those eight games, Olney is batting .579 with 11 hits, three doubles, two home runs and 13 RBI. She is also slugging 1.053 in those games.
10-Straight With Nobody Out: The Bulldogs sent 16 players to the plate in the seventh inning against Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The first 10 of those hitters came around to score, all of which did so with no outs. The Bulldogs recorded 10 hits in the inning, including three singles and a double to lead things off.
Oh Mercy: Four of Georgia’s five wins last weekend came by way of mercy rule. The Bulldogs out scored their opponents 66-7 and defeated three of their opponents by double digits and scored double-digit runs in four of five games. In the last 11 games, Georgia has eight run-rule wins and has out scored opponents 112-14. In that time, the Bulldogs have hit at a .413 clip and slugged .816 with an on-base percentage of .490. The team has also hit 27 home runs, 23 doubles and five triples in that time.
Georgia Pitchers: The Georgia pitching staff  have allowed just 10 runs in the last 46 innings. The team ERA during that time is 1.37 and is led by Morgan Montemayor with a 0.00 ERA and opponents are hitting just .128 against the staff over the last eight games.
Clutch: The Dawgs have saved some of their best hitting when runners are on. Georgia is hitting .380 with runners aboard and .390 when runners are in scoring position. Geri Ann Glasco leads the way with a .438 average when at the plate with runners in scoring position. She is hitting  .514 when runners are on base. Olney is 13-for-23 when batting with runners on base.
