Opening Weekend: The Bulldogs are 56-19 all-time during the opening weekend of the season. Georgia has also won seven-straight season-openers dating back to a 7-6 over Arkansas in 2006.
Â?Red and Black Showcase: Georgia owns a 23-2 all-time record in the Red and Black Showcase. Last season, the Bulldogs went 4-1 with wins over Army, Utah State, St. John's and Campbell.
Against Elon: Georgia leads the all-time series with Elon 7-0. The Bulldogs faced Elon three times in 2010, including once in the NCAA Athens Regional. Georgia won that meeting 10-4.
Against Ohio State: Georgia's last meeting with Ohio State is one of the most memorable moments in Georgia softball history. The Bulldogs swept the Buckeyes in the NCAA Athens Super Regional, the first Super Regional Georgia hosted, to advance to the program's first Women's College World Series. The Bulldogs won the first meeting 6-4 before clinching a berth in the WCWS with a 7-6 win in game two. In all, Georgia is 3-0 against Ohio State.
Â?Against Winthrop: The Bulldogs hold a 16-2 advantage over the Winthrop Eagles in a series that dates back to 1998. After Winthrop won the first-ever meeting, the Bulldogs won 11-straight meetings. Georgia is currently riding a five-game win streak against the Eagles. The two teams were supposed to meet last season, but the game was called due to inclement weather. Sunday will mark the first of two times that these two teams will face one another this season. Georgia will travel to Rock Hill, S.C., later in the season to take part in the Winthrop/ADIDAS Invitational.
