BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Paige Wilson, Geri Ann Glasco and Kaylee Puailoa were each named to the 2014 Preseason All-Southeastern Conference Softball Team, it was announced today by the league office. The three selections tied for the most honorees from a single school.

The Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC Team consists of a minimum of 14 players.  Each SEC head softball coach voted for five infielders, four outfielders, three pitchers, one catcher and one utility/DP player.  No ties were broken.

Wilson, a First Team All-SEC honoree, NFCA All-Region selection and Easton All-American a year ago, picks up the honor as an infielder. She hit at a team best .403 average last season and led the Bulldogs in both hits (81) and RBI (66). The Chicago, Ill., native was second on the team in home runs (16), runs scored (59) and doubles (13). Wilson was also named the SEC Player of the Week once last season and picked up SEC All-Tournament honors.

Earning a spot on the Preseason All-SEC Team as a Designated Player/Utility Player, Glasco, the reigning SEC Co-Freshman of the Year, was also named an NFCA Third Team All-American and an Easton All-American, while also earning a spot on the NFCA All-Region Team and the SEC All-Freshman Team last season. She led the Bulldogs with 19 home runs, finished second on the team in RBI with 61 and was third on the team with a .363 batting average. Glasco also helped the team in the circle, boasting a team-best 17-8 record and leading the staff with 124 strikeouts. Glasco was also named the SEC Freshman of the Week three teams and the National Player of the Week twice.

Puailoa makes the Preseason All-SEC as an outfielder having started 38 games in right field last season. The Buena Park, Calif., native was the only freshman to earn a spot on the All-SEC First Team last year, and also earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team, the NFCA All-Region Team and the Easton All-American Team. Puailoa finished second on the team in batting average (.380), home runs (16) and hits (65). She was third on the team in doubles (11), RBI (54) and slugging percentage (.725). Puailoa was also named the SEC Freshman of the Week once.
