ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia softball team will have five games televised during the 2014 season, it was announced today by the Southeastern Conference. ESPN will carry one game, while ESPNU will carry two games. Fox Sports Net and CSS will broadcast one game each.
The SEC’s first televised game of the season will feature the Bulldogs, as Fox Sports Net is set to air the Sunday, March 16th game against Mississippi State at Jack Turner Stadium at 1 p.m.
CSS will be on hand when Georgia travels to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the LSU Tigers on Saturday, April 12. A time has not been set for the broadcast.
Two of Georgia’s games against Alabama in Tuscaloosa will be televised, with ESPN carrying the Thursday, April 24 game and ESPNU broadcasting the Saturday, April 26 matchup. Thursday’s game will begin at 8 p.m., and Saturday’s will start at noon.
The final televised game of the regular season will be Saturday, May 3 at 4 p.m., when the Kentucky Wildcats visit Athens, Ga. The game is set to air on ESPNU.
Fans will be able to access the ESPN telecasts on WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN mobile app, while the FSN and CSS contests will be available through ESPN3 and the WatchESPN mobile app.
Georgia begins its 2014 campaign Friday, Feb. 7 when it welcomes Winthrop, North Texas and James Madison to Athens, Ga., for the Seventh Annual Red and Black Showcase.
