BATON ROUGE, La.--The No. 12 University of Georgia softball team fell 1-0 at No. 23 LSU on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs took the series from the Tigers 2-1.

With the loss, Georgia moves to 38-13 on the season and 15-10 in SEC play. LSU improves its record to 34-18 and 15-10 in the conference.

Georgia collected four hits in the contest, as junior Tess Sito, senior Ashley Pauly, freshman Paige Wilson and junior Christine Olney each garnered a hit apiece. Sito along with freshman Niaja Griffin also posted a stolen base each.

Senior Erin Arevalo (20-6) took the loss after allowing four hits and striking out four with no walks in her 20th complete game of the season. LSU's Rachel Fico (16-9) earned the win after giving up four hits while striking out six and walking two.

After four scoreless innings, LSU made it a 1-0 game in the bottom fifth after getting started with Tammy Wray's single through the left side. Pinch runner Alex Boulet then made her way to third off of a sacrifice bunt and groundout before scoring from Brittany Mack's double to center.

Georgia will play its last regular season series starting with a doubleheader against Arkansas on Saturday, May 5 with game one set for 2:30 p.m. at Jack Turner Stadium. The last game will be on Sunday, May 6 at 1:30 p.m.
