ATHENS, Ga. --- Senior Alisa Goler hit two home runs and tied a career high with seven RBI as the second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs swatted the 24th-ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 10-2, in five innings Wednesday evening at Jack Turner Softball Stadium.

Goler (2-for-3) highlighted a five-run second inning with a grand slam and a four-run fourth inning with a three-run home run as Georgia improved to 28-4 on the year. Wednesday's contest opened a 10-game home stand for the Bulldogs while the win extended Georgia's national-leading active home winning streak to 33 games.

For Goler, it marked the eighth multi-home run game of her career, raised her team-leading season home run total to 13 and increased her UGA career home run record to 55. The grand slam was Goler's second this season and fourth of her career, and it was the fourth grand slam of 2011 for the Bulldogs. The seven runs produced from the two long balls matched Goler's career-high seven RBI originally set against Ball State on Feb. 20, 2009.

With Goler's charge leading the Bulldogs at the plate, freshman Morgan Montemayor tossed a complete game allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out six and walking none to improve to 14-2 on the year. Georgia Tech (28-6) starter Kristen Adkins suffered the loss to fall to 14-3 after working 3.1 innings allowing seven runs, two earned, on four hits.

The Bulldogs scored their first run in the opening inning. With senior Taylor Schlopy aboard at second after reaching on dropped fly ball, senior and reigning USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Week Brianna Hesson provided a two-out RBI single to center.

In the second, Georgia plated five more runs to expand the lead to 6-0. Junior Brittney Hubbard leadoff with a single up the middle, stole second, moved to third on sacrifice bunt and scored on a sacrifice fly from junior Ashley Pauly. Later in the inning after a walk to senior Megan Wiggins loaded the bases, Goler blasted the first pitch of her at-bat over the wall in left for the grand slam.

The Yellow Jackets picked up their two runs in the game in the top of the fourth on a two-run home run to left from Kelsi Weseman. Kate Kuzma reached base prior to the homer by leading the inning off with a single to left.

In the bottom of the fourth, Georgia added four more runs to reach the needed eight run lead to win by run-rule at 10-2. Pauly lead off with a single up the middle, and two batters later, Wiggins drew another walk prior to Goler drilling the three-run homer to right. The inning continued with Hesson singling to right and advancing to second where sophomore Maya Branch entered as a pinch run. Two wild pitches from Yellow Jacket reliever Hope Rush over the next two plate appearances would allow Branch to come around to score.

The Bulldogs return to Jack Turner Stadium tomorrow for a double header with UNC Wilmington (8-23). First pitch of the twin bill is scheduled for 4 p.m. and GTV will stream free live video of game one and live audio of game two on www.georgiadogs.com. Fans can also log on for live stats of both games against the Seahawks.
