ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team has been recognized as an Academic Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2012-13 school year, the organization announced Thursday.

The award is the 11th straight for the Bulldogs and the fourth under head coach Steve Holeman. In order to qualify, teams must maintain at least a 3.0 grade-point average as a group.

A total of 862 college teams were recognized (593 women, 269 men), including 13 from the Southeastern Conference.
