ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer senior midfielder Nicole Locandro has been named to the CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll, the organization has announced. Locandro joins teammates Madeline Barker (Sept. 3) and Laura Eddy (Sept. 24) as honor roll selections this season.
Locandro had one of the best weekends of her career in Georgia’s road sweep of LSU and Arkansas, with her solid play in possession helping the Bulldogs to a pair of wins that clinched the team a spot in the 2013 SEC Championships. Friday night’s victory marked the Bulldogs’ first win in Baton Rouge since 2000, while it was the team’s first sweep of that road series since 1996.
The Marietta native played all 90 minutes in both games, tallying an assist on Georgia’s first score vs. the Tigers on Friday night to sit with two goals and one assist for five points on the season. On Sunday vs. the Razorbacks, Locandro helped the Bulldog back line keep Arkansas off the board for only the second time this season and first time at home in the 1-0 win. A durable member of the UGA lineup, she has now started a team-high 63 consecutive games and 72 of 81 in which she has played for her career.
Locandro and the Bulldogs are set to host sixth-ranked Florida on Thursday night in the regular-season finale at 6:30 p.m. at the UGA Soccer Stadium, before heading to the SEC Championships Nov. 4-10 in Orange Beach, Ala.
