Allen Garners All-SEC Honors
Torri Allen is a second team All-SEC selection.

Oct. 29, 2012

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer junior defender Torri Allen has been named to the All-SEC second team, according to Monday afternoon’s announcement from the league office. Conference awards are decided on by a vote of the 14 member institutions’ head coaches.

Allen picked up the second All-SEC honors of her career after starting all 20 games and logging the second-most minutes among field players with 1,811. Allen – a center back – played a crucial part in the Bulldog defense that limited opponents to 1.10 goals per game and recorded six shutout efforts on the 2012 season. She also fired a shot on goal and posted two huge defensive saves – a rare stat given to defensive players for directly preventing an opposing team from scoring.

In 2010 Allen was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team in addition to landing on the All-South Region’s third team for her play as a rookie on the back line.

Allen and the Bulldogs finished the 2012 season with an overall record of 7-11-2 and 3-8-2 in SEC play.
