ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team’s Sunday home match-up vs. new league rival Texas A&M is set for a 3 p.m. kickoff airing nationally on ESPNU. (Note: the game was originally scheduled for 2 p.m. before being picked up by television this summer). Pam Ward and USWNT/NWSL standout Cat Whitehill will be on the call. Admission to the UGA Soccer Stadium is free.
The game will also be carried online via WatchESPN to customers of participating cable providers.
Additionally, Georgiadogs.com will offer live audio coverage with commentary by GTV’s Kevin Copp, free of charge.
The Bulldogs (10-4-1, 3-3-1) are coming off a statement game Friday night, defeating visiting Mississippi State 5-0 with two goals by senior Madeline Barker and one apiece from Marion Crowder, Nikki Hill, and Cara Smith. Goalkeeper Caitlin Woody’s 10th shutout of the season moved her into sole possession of the Georgia school record for blank sheets in a single season.
The visiting Aggies stand at 11-3-1 (6-1-0) following Friday night’s convincing 3-0 win over Alabama on the road in Tuscaloosa.
Georgia and Texas A&M have only had one prior meeting in the series, a 1-0 victory for then-No. 9 TAMU in double overtime in College Station a year ago. The Aggies are making their first trip to Athens.
