LAWRENCE, Kan. --- Three Georgia soccer players were named to the Kansas Invitational All-Tournament Team for their play in the event over the weekend, KU announced Sunday night.
Bulldog redshirt freshman Bella Hartley, junior defender Torri Allen, and senior defender Rebekah Perry were each named to the 11-player list at their respective positions. Hartley scored two goals in Georgia’s 5-0 win over South Dakota State on Sunday, now standing with the team lead in goals (3) and points (6) through Georgia’s first four outings. Allen and Perry helped UGA’s back line to Sunday’s shutout of the Jackrabbits, allowing just one goal all weekend in front of keepers Ashley Baker and Caitlin Woody.
The Bulldogs went 1-1 on the weekend, falling 1-0 to host Kansas Friday before rebounding with their largest scoring output since 2010 to defeat SDSU on Sunday. Georgia finished second in the tournament behind the undefeated Jayhawks and ahead of UNLV and South Dakota State, each 0-1-1.
Georgia is next in action this coming weekend, heading to participate in the UCF Tournament in Orlando, Fla. The Bulldogs will meet South Florida on Fri., Aug. 31 before taking on host and ninth-ranked Central Florida Sun., Sept. 2.
