ATHENS, Ga. --- Three Georgia soccer games are set to be televised nationally during the 2014 season, including two on the brand new SEC Network.
Georgia’s season opener this Friday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. ET on the road at Ole Miss will serve as the very first in-season live event across all sports to air on the SEC Network. Additionally, the Bulldogs’ home game vs. Vanderbilt on Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. will air on the SEC Network, while the Oct. 19 home game vs. LSU at 3 p.m. will be broadcast on ESPNU.
The SEC Network will also televise the first round, quarterfinal, and semifinal rounds of the 2014 SEC Soccer Championships Nov. 3-9 in Orange Beach, Ala, with the final to air on ESPNU.
All other Georgia home games in 2014 will be carried live on the SEC Network’s digital platform, SEC Network +. Georgia’s SEC Network + games will feature commentary from Kevin Copp and Lisa Boyd. All home and road games will also include live audio coverage on Georgiadogs.com.
SEC Network + is available on SECnetwork.com and the WatchESPN app, and is only available to customers whose cable providers carry the SEC Network television channel.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-0 win over Auburn in exhibition action last Saturday night at the UGA Soccer Stadium, with goals coming from sophomores Alexa Antetomaso and Rachel Garcia and freshman Kelsey Killean. Freshman goalkeeper Louise Hogrell recorded the shutout.
