ATHENS. Ga. --- Georgia senior defender Torri Allen has been named to the College Sports Madness unofficial preseason All-America third team, the organization announced Thursday.
Allen – a native of Stafford, Va., was a first team All-South Region and second team All-SEC selection in 2012, and was tabbed by College Sports Madness as a preseason first team All-SEC selection earlier this week.
Allen started all 20 games last season, logging the second-most minutes among field players with 1,811 and playing a pivotal role for a Bulldog back line that kept opponents to just 1.10 goals per game with six shutouts. For her career, she has played in 61 games with 48 starts, and has one goal to her name on the offensive end.
The Georgia soccer team will host a home exhibition game against The Citadel this Friday night at 7 p.m. – open to the public with free admission. The team opens the 2013 regular season on the road against Texas and Houston on Aug. 23 and 25, respectively.
