Allen Named Preseason First Team All-SEC

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia senior defender Torri Allen has been named to the College Sports Madness unofficial preseason All-SEC first team, the organization has announced.

Allen – a native of Stafford, Va., and a second team All-SEC selection in 2012, was previously named to the SEC’s official Watch List earlier this summer. She started all 20 games last season, logging the second-most minutes among field players with 1,811 and playing a pivotal role for a Bulldog back line that kept opponents to just 1.10 goals per game with six shutouts. In addition to landing on the All-SEC squad, Allen was named first team All-South Region last season and was voted Georgia’s defensive MVP.

Allen and the Bulldogs will host a home exhibition game against The Citadel this Friday night at 7 p.m. – open to the public with free admission. The team opens the 2013 regular season on the road against Texas and Houston on Aug. 23 and 25, respectively.
