ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer freshman Becca Rasmussen has been named to the 20-player roster for the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that will travel to Mexico City for an international training camp July 22-28.
The roster is comprised of players born in 1996 and 1997, many of whom will form the core of the U-20 team that will attempt to qualify for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in South Africa.
Rasmussen and the U-18 squad most recently competed at the U.S. Olympic Training Center May 11-18, while Rasmussen also attended camp with the U-20s in Chula Vista, Calif., in April. In March, she played in the prestigious 10 Nations Tournament with the U-18s in La Manga, Spain.
She has national team experience at every level from U-14 through U-20.
The Golden, Colo., native is the No. 31-ranked player in the 2014 class according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, and was named a Youth All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in 2013.
An early enrollee, Rasmussen already completed a semester at UGA and played with the Georgia team during its spring campaign, tallying six assists.
