ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia soccer freshman Becca Rasmussen is set to attend another U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team event, heading to compete in training camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., May 11-18. Technical Director April Heinrichs has called in 24 players for the age group’s second camp of the year.
The team is attempting to qualify for the 2016 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup in South Africa. Rasmussen is one of two college players on the roster.
Rasmussen recently attended camp with the U-20 squad in Chula Vista, and in March she played with the U-18s in the 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain. She has previous national team camp experience at every level from U-14 through U-18.
The Golden, Colo., native is the No. 31-ranked player in the 2014 class according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, and was named a Youth All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in 2013.
An early enrollee, Rasmussen is already on campus and competed with the Georgia team during its spring campaign, tallying six assists.
