ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia freshman soccer player Becca Rasmussen was named to the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team roster in advance of next month’s 10 Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain, U.S. Soccer has announced.
Rasmussen – a midfielder from Golden, Colo. – is a member of the Bulldogs’ 2014 signing class, but enrolled already and is already on campus.
The squad will face U-19 teams from Sweden (March 8), Norway (March 10), and France (March 12). U.S. Women’s Technical Director April Heinrichs has called up 20 players, all but two born in 1996, which is the age cut-off year for the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Rasmussen has national team camp experience at every level from U-14 through U-18, and has played in the W-League with the Colorado Rush. She is the No. 31-ranked player in the 2014 class by TopDrawerSoccer.com, and was named a Youth All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in 2013.
