ATHENS, Ga. --- For the second straight year the Georgia soccer team won its 7v7 Tournament at the UGA Soccer Stadium, as the squad posted an overall record of 5-0 on the day and defeated in-state rival Kennesaw State, 6-0, in the championship match.
Georgia moved out of the morning's round robin portion with three wins coming against North Georgia, Valdosta State, and Mercer by a combined margin of 20-4. The Bulldogs then faced Clayton State in the first semifinal, registering a 4-1 win there, before moving on to meet KSU - the winner of the other group's semi. The Owls had defeated Armstrong Atlantic, 3-1.
The Bulldogs got four goals from rising senior Nicole Locandro in the final and one apiece from classmates Meghan Gibbons and Madeline Barker to lift Georgia to the victory. Caitlin Woody and Callie Corbin Langford combined to make six saves and post the shutout effort in goal. Georgia out-shot the Owls by a final tally of 24-13.

Georgia will round out the 2013 spring season next Saturday, hosting Georgia Southern for a 7 p.m. meeting at home.
