Gym Dogs Sign Three For 2016

Nov. 13, 2014

ATHENS --- Georgia gymnastics coach Danna Durante announced on Thursday the signing of three prospects to national letters of intent to attend UGA and compete for the Gym Dogs.

Gracie Cherrey of Woodbury, Minn., and Sydney Snead of Raleigh, N.C., will begin competing for Georgia in 2016, while Jordyn Pedersen of Ontario, Canada, plans to defer for one year in order to compete in the 2016 Olympics.

"We are excited for Gracie, Jordyn and Sydney to officially join the Georgia gymnastics family," head coach Danna Durante said. "They all have a great deal of experience and success and all three are tremendous competitors. As a staff we spend a great deal of time to find athletes who thrive on competing and most importantly competing in front of large crowds, all three fit that mold. Each one of them has the ability to compete on every event and will help push our team with their competitiveness and drive. They have high character, a tremendous work ethic, and incredible determination. They will, no doubt, rely on their successful past experiences to excel at the University of Georgia both athletically and academically."
