Gym Dogs' Jay Named USA Gymnastics Region 3 Elite Athlete Of The Year

ATHENS-----Brandie Jay, who will be a freshman on the 2013 University of Georgia gymnastics team, has been named the USA Gymnastics Region 3 Elite Athlete of the Year. 

As a member of the U.S. gold medal winning team at the 2011 Pan American Games, Jay won gold on vault in her first international competition. She was also one of two U.S. gymnasts to qualify for the individual all-around competition and finished sixth. Jay competed at the Visa Championships in June and came in second on vault.

At the 2011 WOGA Classic, Jay finished first on vault, third on bars, sixth on beam, fourth on floor and second in the all-around. She also placed first on vault and the all-around at the 2010 J.O. Nationals. A native of Ft. Collins, Colo., Jay trained at GK Gymnastics. 

Sophomore Gym Dog Chelsea Davis was named the Region 3 Elite Athlete of the Year in 2010.
