The Pro Gymnastics Challenge features many of the world's top gymnasts - both men and women - competing in a two-day event. Friday's meet will include mixed international teams competing in a skill-for-skill competition, and on Saturday more than 100 athletes will square off in a USA vs. The World competition.
The competition will feature an offensive team and a defensive team. The team on offense will perform a skill or sequence of skills, then the defensive team will attempt to do that skill or sequence of skills better. The winner is determined by referees, and the winning team gains the point or points and offensive control. In the event of a tie the audience votes to decide the winner. On each event the winning team is the first one to 10 points.
The competition will air on ESPN2 May 20-22.
Couch and Worley wrapped up their UGA gymnastics careers this season as All-Americans, while Ding competed for the Gym Dogs from 2009-2012 and won three NCAA individual titles.
Other former college gymnasts expected to participate in the competition include Brie Olson (Oklahoma), Alina Weinstein (Illinois), Ashanee Dickerson (Florida), Vanessa Zamarippa (UCLA), Alyssa Pritchett (UCLA), Marissa King (Florida) and Laura-Ann Chong (Oregon State).
