ATHENS-----Eight different members of the Georgia gymnastics team earned a total of 13 All-America honors at the NCAA Championships held last weekend in Duluth.

Places 1-4 (plus ties) in each event and the all-around in each session of the preliminary team competition are considered first team All-Americans. Places 5-8 (plus ties) are considered second team All-Americans.

The last time eight Gym Dogs achieved All-America status was in 2008, and the only year Georgia had more All-Americans was in 1998 when it had nine.

Senior Kat Ding led the way in 2012 with four first team All-America honors in the all-around, vault, bars and floor. The NCAA champion on bars and floor, Ding was the runner-up in the all-around and placed third on vault.
